Maintenance Tips
-
After use, clean immediately to prevent food particles from drying onto the surface. Use warm water, soft cloth, and mild soap (if needed). For stubborn food residue, use a plastic scraper. Dry promptly.
-
After drying, apply a small amount of conditioner with a clean, soft cloth. Shake the conditioner gently before using. After use, you can store cloth in a ziploc bag to re-use whenever the board feels dry to touch.
-
Never clean the board in the dishwasher and avoid soaking in water. It will likely cause the board to warp and/or crack
-
Never use vegetable or olive oil to season your board. Over time the oils can get rancid and affect the flavor of food served on the board. Only use specific food-grade butcher block conditioners.
-
After extended use if your board shows signs of wear, lightly sand in the direction of the grain with fine-grit sandpaper (220 or higher) to remove any stains or scratches. Follow up with re-seasoning with conditioner.
